About Client
AS Trader is a trading-education business - a place where aspiring and working traders learn through structured lessons, live cohorts, and practice tools. The offering goes beyond a content library: students progress through a sequenced curriculum, track their own performance, and interact with the instructor and cohort as they go.
Our Role
PixG designed and developed a custom software platform from scratch for AS Trader - not a Shopify theme, not a generic LMS, but a bespoke web application purpose-built for how the business actually teaches.
What we did
- Product strategy: mapped the learner journey from signup to active cohort to advanced self-directed study, then translated that into an application architecture.
- Designed and built a custom teaching platform - lesson player, assignment flows, cohort spaces, and instructor tooling.
- Built a member dashboard where students see their progress, upcoming sessions, saved lessons, and performance over time.
- Engineered access control and content gating so paid cohorts, free lessons, and archived content all live cleanly in one system.
Our approach
- Refused the "just put it on Teachable" shortcut - the teaching model deserved its own software, not a generic course plugin.
- Designed for the teacher as much as the student - instructor tooling, cohort management, and content ops all get first-class UI.
- Built with a clean data model so new course types, cohorts, and community features can land without rewriting the core.
